 About Cassandra

I am a recent graduate of Millikin University in Decatur, IL where I earned my BFA in Musical Theatre and a Minor in Dance! I grew up in Johnson City, Tennessee where I Iearned to love three things above all others: Theatre, Dolly Parton, and Cows. I will be spending the 2019-2020 season at Riverside Theatre in Vero Beach, FL where I am a current Performance Apprentice and I could not be more thrilled to get to call Florida my current home!

What's Up With Cassandra

Up Next: Woodstock Playhouse!

March, 3, 2020

I absolutely could not be more excited to get to officially announce that as soon as I finish up my contract here at Riverside, I will immediately be heading up to Woodstock, NY to spend my summer at Woodstock Playhouse playing Betty Blake in The Will Rogers Follies! I will also be appearing in a handful of other shows but I am absolutely giddy to try my hand at playing an ingenue after so many years of being told that I would only ever be right for soubrettes! Being from East Tennessee, I spent a lot of time hiking growing up and I have really missed being in the mountains these past 5 years! That makes this contract all the more special as it will put me back in my favorite mountain range (say it with me: Appuh-latch-uhn)! Here’s to a summer of learning, playing, and making some theatre!!

So, How’s Riverside Been?

January 30th, 2020

Now that I’m about half way through my apprenticeship at Riverside Theatre, it’s about time that I updated you on how life in Florida has been! You guessed it: it’s been great! I’m definitely a Florida weather type of girl and having the temperature usually being between 70-90 degrees has really agreed with me! I’ve gotten the chance to perform in 2 shows on the main stage so far (I played Penelope Square in Polkadots and lived my best life in Millie) and the caliber of show that Riverside is able to produce is amazing! We’ve been touring a handful of TYA shows at local schools and I’ve gotten to work on my choreography skills with children’s productions of Frozen Jr, Shrek Jr, Matilda, and multiple productions of Annie KIDS! Even though I was hesitant about how good I’d be at it at first, I am SO glad to have gained this new skill of being able to create something! I also have been going to Disney a lot! Maybe too much... silly me, there’s no such thing as too much Disney!

Thoroughly Modern Cassie!

January 12, 2020

Move over literally every other show I’ve ever done! Riverside Theatre’s Thoroughly Modern Millie is officially my favorite show I’ve ever done! I got the opportunity to appear in the ensemble, tap my little heart out in “Forget About the Boy”, and play one of the Priscilla Girls (Lucille)! This was my first time working with a cast at this level and I never imagined that I’d get to work with Broadway professionals this soon after graduation! It was definitely intimidating during the first few rehearsals, but I cannot stress enough just how much this cast has taught me about being a professional performer. And about being a good human because they are, hands dow, some of the BEST humans that I have ever had the pleasure of meeting!

I Graduated, Now What?

May 29th, 2019

I am super excited to announce that my first job post-graduation will be working as one of 4 Performance Apprentices at Riverside Theatre In Vero Beach, FL for the next year! Ever since August I have been feeling that I wanted to move to FL after graduation but I’d been being pushed to move to the Chicago market and had resigned myself to that until I was offered the job at Riverside! I am so thankful for this opportunity to try my hand at teaching some kiddos, to make some theatre, and to see how FL treats me!

All Educated and Graduated

May 19th, 2019

I am completely amazed that the end to my 4 years came so quickly and that I’ve officially graduated with my BFA in Musical Theatre and a Minor in Dance! It was a hard journey at times and have given me so much as a performer and as a person and I will cherish these 4 years with all my heart ❤️.

Cast in Chelsea Sunrise!

January 30, 2019

I'm super excited to announce that I will get to perform on the Millikin stage one last time before graduating in May! I have been cast in the ensemble of Chelsea Sunrise! It is a brand new musical by Murray Foster and Mike Ford that Millikin is workshopping and staging while it is being developed! Performances will be March 22-24.

New Musicals Immersion

January 18th, 2019

I headed back to Millikin a few weeks ago to start working on this year's New Musicals Workshop Immersion. This year the immersion was based around Disney and I got the opportunity to spend a few days working with Michael Kooman and Chris Dimond on their music from Disney Junior's Vampirina! I got to learn about singing in a recording studio and about voice over techniques! Then we headed down to Orlando, Florida to spend a few days in Disney World meeting with casting directors, attending workshops, and, of course, running around the parks!

I Got a Website!

December 17th, 2018

Look how far the world has come! Cassandra's nickname among her classmates while in London was "Genius Who Fixed The Printer" and now this tech genius has figured out the internet!

'A Bovine Line'

December 6th, 2018

The time for my Dance Minor Choreography Project came along and I decided to make my dream dance. I got lots of positive feedback about my musical theatre cow dance inspired by the work of Gillian Lynne and Michael Bennett. You can watch the final dress recording RIGHT NOW in my little video section and keep an eye out for production photos and a better recording which are all coming soon!

What happened when the cow jumped over a barbed wire fence?
Udder destruction.
